“ Having lived in Holt for over 20 years and frequently visiting Diamondale, just five minutes away. We somehow overlooked this delightful establishment. The owner provided truly amazing service. The homemade food is exceptionally delicious; I had the avocado toast with delicious homemade bread. Their small bakery offers homemade bread and baked goods, free from commercial additives. ”
“ We tried this place because a friend recommended their predecessor. We saw it was another restaurant now and decided to try it anyway. We were so glad we did!! The sandwiches were on delicious homemade bread - so much better than commercial. The coleslaw is a well-balanced mix between sweet and creamy and vinegar. The fish in the basket had a nice crisp and the homemade American potatoes were unusual and quite good with crispy edges and tender centers. The bacon in the club and grilled cheese was really crispy and portion sizes were good. The warm apple pie with ice cream was amazing with a light flaky crust and fresh fruit and a large serving for only 3.50. Everything was truly a good value. Service is friendly and attentive and the bathroom was clean, well-supplied and smelled nice. They also have baked goods for sale and we took home a loaf of cinnamon bread for later. Please forgive that we had already split the food in the pictures because we both wanted to try the club and the grilled cheese. ”

“ I took my mom to MorningLory Cafe today, she is in a wheelchair and there are 3 steps to get inside. The owner had a ramp she had an employee put out but I couldn't push her up it, the same employee came back and got my mom up the ramp and inside. He also came back when we were done and got her back out to our car and helped to pick her up and put her back into our car. Both the owner Lory and this young man went above and beyond to accommodate my mother. The food was also amazing, I had a breakfast skillet that was so large I brough a ton home and she had French toast and sausage, both were so good. I also brough some backed good to take home. We will definitely be back. Thank you Lory! ”
“ We just discovered this excellent example of a small town cafe. Stopping by for breakfast just because we happen to be in the area we found far above average biscuits and gravy along with a top-notch skillet breakfast. My wife, who is a bit of a biscuits and gravy snob, said it was possibly the best she'd ever had and possessing a very generous proportion of sausage. The skillet breakfast for me was large and just as generously portioned although my one minor quibble would be it was advertised as hash browns and I would really call them home fries. Either way it was excellent and the prices were extremely reasonable. Service was exceptionally friendly and attentive just everything had the friendly small town feel that I think we all value. We will certainly be making a point of going back! ”
